Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager

Job Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced Strategic Sourcing professional to lead domestic and international sourcing activities, optimize procurement costs, mitigate supply chain risks, and build long-term supplier partnerships across commodity, specialty, and niche chemicals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans aligned with business growth and profitability objectives.
• Manage domestic and international sourcing of commodity, specialty, and niche chemicals.
• Negotiate long-term contracts, pricing agreements, and strategic supplier partnerships.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard new suppliers.
• Drive cost optimization, supplier performance, quality, delivery, and compliance.
• Monitor chemical market trends, pricing movements, raw material availability, and geopolitical risks.
• Develop alternate sourcing strategies and ensure uninterrupted material availability.
• Optimize inventory levels, reduce aging stock, and manage slow-moving and non-moving inventory.
• Align sourcing decisions with sales forecasts and demand planning.
• Improve working capital through effective commercial negotiations and payment terms.
• Coordinate with Quality, Regulatory, and Logistics teams to ensure product quality and statutory compliance.

Preferred candidate profile

• 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing within the chemical industry.
• Experience in chemical distribution, trading, manufacturing, commodity chemicals, or specialty chemicals.
• Strong expertise in supplier development, commercial negotiations, contract management, and market intelligence.
• Understanding of chemical supply chains, sourcing risks, and inventory optimization.
• Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in contract manufacturing or tolling arrangements will be an advantage.
