Senior Software Engineer - Release Engineering

You will be a DevOps Engineer in the geographically-distributed Walmart Returns Platform Engineering team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the Highly Available, Scalable, and Reliable nature of Walmart Search Stack. - Design, develop, and maintain next-gen DevOps processes encompassing various stages including planning, coding, building, testing, releasing, deploying, operating, and monitoring. - Design, build, and operate tools to enhance developer productivity. - Devise strategies to test use cases and scenarios to build a robust platform. - Lead and participate in medium to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by translating project requirements into technical solutions. - Troubleshoot business and production issues, formulate action plans, and perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences. - Work closely with development teams to ensure solutions are designed with customer user experience, scale/performance, and operability in mind. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform and tooling by providing input into the roadmap direction and development of tooling. - Function as a technical generalist responsible for the overall health and performance of the application landscape. - Collaborate with Dev & QA teams in adopting best practices in design, development, and testing. - Optimize the application to leverage cloud aspects such as elasticity, logging, load balancing, blue-green deployment, etc. - Establish and monitor continuous deployment, including the development and management of the pipeline. - Identify opportunities for change and develop plans for capitalizing on these opportunities. - Participate in 24x7 on-call responsibilities for mission-critical services on a rotation basis. - Design and implement platforms for monitoring, log processing, metrics collection, and data visualization. - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area with 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company; OR 5 years of experience in software engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company. - Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Software Engineering Quality Assurance, Manual/Automated Testing, or related area with 2 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Manual/Automated Testing, or related area, Quality assurance certification, related industry experience, and Information Technology CISCO Certification.,
