Senior Software Developer Java, Ruby, Kotlin, Kafka & Mobile
Experience:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Ruby, Kotlin, Kafka, and mobile application development. The ideal candidate should have experience developing scalable backend services, building mobile applications, integrating distributed systems, and delivering reliable, high-performance software solutions.
The candidate will contribute to backend engineering, mobile application development, system integration, architecture discussions, and production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Ruby.
- Develop and maintain mobile applications using Android technologies, including Kotlin, and/or other relevant mobile frameworks.
- Implement and maintain REST APIs and integrations between mobile applications and backend systems.
- Work with Apache Kafka for event-driven communication, messaging, and distributed application workflows.
- Contribute to application architecture, system design, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and optimize application performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, QA, and DevOps.
- Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Support application scalability, reliability, security, and performance improvements.
Mandatory Skills:
812 years of relevant software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java.
- Professional experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails.
- Hands-on experience with Kotlin and/or relevant mobile development technologies.
- Professional mobile application development experience is mandatory.
- Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven or messaging-based systems.
- Experience developing REST APIs and backend services.
- Good understanding of databases, distributed systems, and software architecture.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and production troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with native Android and/or iOS development.
- Exposure to React Native or other cross-platform mobile frameworks.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Elixir.
- Experience developing high-scale, distributed, or data-intensive applications.
