Senior Sales Engineer - CNC Machines

Role Overview

As Senior Sales Engineer, you will generate and convert enquiries for CNC machines from first discussion and technical qualification, through RFQ and quotation, to negotiation and closure. You will work directly with customer owners, plant heads and production engineers, and coordinate with our applications and service teams to deliver the right machine for each requirement.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the full sales cycle for CNC machines in your assigned territory: prospecting, enquiry handling, technical discussions, RFQ preparation, quotation, negotiation and order closure
• Understand customer components and applications, and recommend the right machine category, model and configuration
• Prepare technical-commercial proposals, cycle-time and feasibility inputs, and competitive comparisons
• Build and maintain a healthy pipeline in the CRM; keep enquiry stages, follow-ups and forecasts up to date
• Develop relationships with existing customers for repeat and expansion business
• Coordinate with applications, service and finance teams for demos, trials, installation and payment collection
• Track competitor activity, pricing and market trends in your region
• Represent the company at trade shows, customer visits and machine demonstrations

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience selling CNC machine tools (VMC, HMC, turning centres, VTL, 5-axis or similar capital equipment)
• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production or related engineering discipline
• Strong understanding of machining processes, work-holding, tooling and machine specifications
• Proven record of meeting sales targets on high-value capital equipment
• Comfortable with technical selling to owners, plant heads and production engineers
• Experience with CRM tools and disciplined pipeline management
• Good communication in English and Tamil; Hindi is an advantage
• Willingness to travel extensively within the territory
