We are seeking an Experienced Mainframe professional with 3-5 years of expertise in PL1, COBOL, CICS, JCL, IMS, DB2, and VSAM. Proficiency in PL1 and IMS is essential for this role. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical abilities and hands-on development experience in the mentioned areas. Effective communication skills are also crucial for this position. Previous experience in the Financial domain would be advantageous. As part of the team, your responsibilities will include designing, developing, modifying, adapting, and implementing short- and long-term solutions to technology needs using new and existing applications, systems architecture, and network systems. You will review system requirements and business processes, code, test, debug, document, and implement software solutions. Your role will involve providing application software development services within defined projects, developing program logic for new applications, and analyzing or modifying logic in existing applications. Additionally, you will ensure the successful implementation of system improvements and may be involved in testing new software code in an efficient ("Agile") development environment. You will apply your theoretical knowledge base to work towards achieving goals through your individual contributions. Your expertise, gained through formal education and practical experience, will enable you to provide guidance to others as a project manager using technical proficiency. This role requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise, allowing you to interpret internal or external business issues and recommend best practices. You will be responsible for solving complex problems, taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. While you will work independently, guidance will be provided in only the most complex situations. There may be opportunities for you to lead functional teams or projects. Functional Knowledge: You should have a clear understanding and application of procedures and concepts within your discipline, along with basic knowledge of other disciplines. Business Expertise: Your role will involve interpreting internal and external business challenges and recommending best practices to enhance products, processes, or services. Leadership: You may be tasked with leading functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Problem Solving: You will lead others in solving complex problems, using sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions. Impact: Your work will have an impact on the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives, with guidance provided by functional policies. Interpersonal Skills: You should be able to effectively communicate complex concepts and negotiate with others to encourage the adoption of different points of view.
