Job Summary

GST & TDS calculations

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Maintain books of accounts in compliance with

  Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS)

• Handle day-to-day accounting, journal entries, ledger scrutiny, and reconciliations
• Prepare

  monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Ensure timely

  month-end and year-end closures

• Review and control expenses, provisions, and accruals

GST Calculation, Compliance & Reporting

• Calculate GST liability

  on sales, schemes, discounts, and credit/debit notes

• Compute eligible Input Tax Credit (ITC)

  and perform reversals as per GST provisions
• Pass accurate

  GST accounting entries

  in ERP/Tally
• Prepare and file

  GSTR-1, GSTR-3B

  , and perform

  GSTR-2B vs books reconciliation

• Calculate

  interest, late fees, and reversals

  , where applicable
• Handle

  multi-state GST registrations

  , inter-state transactions, and e-way bill compliance
• Manage GST implications for

  trade promotions, distributor incentives, freight, and logistics costs

• Coordinate with consultants and handle

  GST audits, notices, and assessments

TDS Calculation & Income Tax Compliance

• Calculate TDS deductions

  under relevant sections (194C, 194J, 194H, 194I, 192, etc.)
• Identify correct

  TDS rates

  based on vendor category and payment nature
• Ensure accurate

  TDS accounting entries

  and timely tax deposits
• Prepare and file

  quarterly TDS returns (24Q, 26Q)

• Calculate

  interest and late fees

  for delays or defaults, if any
• Issue

  Form 16 / Form 16A

  within statutory timelines
• Manage

  lower / nil deduction certificates

  and related compliance
• Respond to

  TDS notices and reconciliations

FMCG Commercial & Distributor Accounting

• Accounting of

  sales, distributor margins, incentives, and trade schemes

• Reconciliation of

  distributor, customer, and channel partner accounts

• Processing of credit notes and claims related to schemes and promotions
• Monitor trade spends and ensure proper accounting treatment

Reporting, Audit & Support

• Prepare

  MIS reports

  for management on sales, margins, expenses, and profitability
• Support

  statutory, tax, and internal audits

  and closure of audit observations
• Coordinate with banks, auditors, and consultants
• Assist in ERP/system improvements and process automation

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Timely and accurate book closures

• 100% compliance in GST & TDS calculations and filings

• Zero penalties, interest, or adverse audit remarks
• Accuracy in distributor and customer reconciliations
• Timely submission of MIS and statutory reports

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• B.Com / M.Com

  (Mandatory)

• CA Inter / CMA Inter

  preferred

Experience

• 7-10 years

  of relevant experience in Accounts & Finance
• Mandatory exposure to

  FMCG / Consumer Goods / Manufacturing

• Strong hands-on experience in

  GST & TDS calculations and compliance

Skills & Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of

  GST, TDS, and Indian taxation laws

• Proficiency in

  Tally / SAP / Oracle / ZOHO / ERP systems

• Advanced

  Excel

  skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail and deadline orientation
• Effective communication and stakeholder coordination
