Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer with deep AWS expertise. You will design, build and run our cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will own CI/CD, deployment automation and production reliability for platforms used at public scale.

This is a role for engineers who care about correctness, performance, and maintainability — and who want their work to have real-world impact on open data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

● Design, build and manage scalable, secure and highly available infrastructure on AWS.

● Build and maintain a robust DevOps and CI/CD framework.

● Write deployment automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code.

● Deploy and manage containerized workloads on Kubernetes (including Amazon EKS).

● Design and manage cloud networking: VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, load

balancers and DNS.

● Set up monitoring, logging and alerting for production systems.

● Apply security best practices: IAM, least-privilege access, encryption and secrets management.

● Optimize AWS cost and performance.

● Provide platform support after deployment, including incident response and root-cause

analysis.

● Follow software development best practices and work within Agile/Scrum teams.

AWS (primary skill, extensive hands-on experience required)

● Compute and containers: EC2, Auto Scaling, EKS, ECS, Lambda

● Networking: VPC, Route 53, ALB/NLB, NAT Gateway, VPC Peering/Transit Gateway

● Storage and databases: S3, EBS, EFS, RDS

● Security: IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, Security Groups

● Monitoring: CloudWatch, CloudTrail

DevOps and Infrastructure

● Containerization: Docker, Docker Compose, Docker Registry / Amazon ECR

● Orchestration: Kubernetes (EKS, Rancher, Kubespray, kOps)

● Infrastructure as Code and automation: Terraform, Ansible

● CI/CD: Jenkins

● Web server and proxy: Nginx

● Monitoring and logging: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Elasticsearch

● Scripting: Python, Shell/Bash

● Version control: Git

Core Fundamentals

● Strong Linux system administration

● Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, load balancing, firewalls, VPN

Nice to Have

● Experience with DigitalOcean or other cloud platforms

● Exposure to Apache Spark or Apache Flink

● Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Helm

Requirements

● 5+ years of DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure experience.

● 4+ years of hands-on experience running production workloads on AWS.

● Experience with Agile software development and Scrum practices.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills.

● Must be based in, or willing to work from, Bengaluru (CDPG, IISc campus).

Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year
