Senior Captioner, English Subtitling

Role Overview: As a Senior Captioner at Clockwork Captions, your main focus will be on creating and QC-ing high-quality English subtitles for various multimedia content. This position, located in Bengaluru with the option for remote work, requires exceptional attention to detail, research skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines. Having knowledge of subtitling software and tools, along with experience in the entertainment industry, will be advantageous. A Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Communication, or a related field is preferred. Key Responsibilities: - Format, edit, and proofread English subtitles for audio and grammatical accuracy, specifically for major Hollywood studios. - Format, edit, and proofread English subtitles tailored for deaf and hard of hearing audiences. - Provide cultural references and expressions as footnotes to aid translators. - Perform audio fidelity quality checks to ensure synchronization with the audio. - Localize language and spelling for British and U.S. English releases. - Utilize proprietary software to handle English files, including script preparation and format conversions. - Ensure prompt delivery of the subtitle files. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Communication, or a related field. - Proficiency in subtitling software and tools. - Experience in the entertainment industry is a plus. - Excellent attention to detail and research skills. - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively. Additional Company Details (if present): In this role, you will work from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm, with the flexibility to negotiate weekend shift timings. A preferred coverage of Wednesday to Sunday is expected to meet the demands of this dynamic position.,
