Senior Architect - Industrial & Logistics

Hiring on behalf of Datum Hiring. Senior Architect — Industrial & Logistics Own industrial projects end to end, from master plan to approvals and GFC, and lead a team of 5–6 architects. Location: Chennai (on-site, with site visits) Experience: 6–10 years Level: T3 Senior Architect Team: 5–6 architects Qualification: B.Arch with Council of Architecture registration The role You will own the architecture of large industrial facilities — warehouses, logistics parks and factories — in Sriperumbudur, Oragadam, Irungattukottai, Mahindra World City and the Chennai–Bengaluru / Ponneri logistics corridors. You plan the site, design the buildings, take them through statutory approval and deliver GFC drawings, while leading and developing a team of 5–6 architects. What you will own • Master plans for industrial sites: zoning, truck courts and docks, circulation, setbacks, FAR and phasing. • Statutory submittals from first drawing to approval: building permission, fire NOC, factory plan approval and occupancy. • The architectural package from concept to GFC on facilities of 20,000 m²+, including envelope, details, specifications and BOQ. • The team: plan and allocate the work, check drawings and mentor 5–6 architects to deadline and budget. • Coordination with structure, MEP, process vendors and site, through BIM reviews, RFIs and value engineering. Must have • Master planning: industrial site master plans — zoning, truck and car circulation, turning radii, setbacks, ground coverage / FAR and phasing. Planning at Advanced level is essential for this role. • Statutory submittals: has taken at least 2 industrial projects through building permission, fire NOC and factory plan approval, including drawings, compliance and following up with the authority. • Team leadership: leads, allocates and checks the work of 5–6 architects; mentors juniors and owns the team's deliverables and schedule. • Codes and fire safety: NBC 2016 (Parts 3–4), the Factories Act, local DCR; occupancy and hazard class, egress, compartmentation, fire tender access. • Package ownership: concept to GFC for industrial buildings of 20,000 m²+ — scheme design, envelope (PEB / standing seam / cladding) and construction detailing. • Design basis and documentation: writes the architectural DBR; produces GFC sets, specifications and BOQ inputs. • Coordination and site: coordinates with structure, MEP and process vendors (Navisworks / ACC); answers RFIs; brings value-engineering ideas. • Local approvals — Chennai: Hands-on approval experience with CMDA, DTCP or SIPCOT in the Chennai region.
