Senior Accountant - USA Freight Forwarding ( Night Shift)

Process: Senior Accountant (USA Process)

Role: Sr Accountant / Specialist

Shift Timing: 6.30 PM – 3.30 AM – IST (Mon – Fri)

Mode: Work from office | Location: Chennai Next to Airport

Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end USA accounting operations using CargoWise One (CW-1).
• Ensure accurate recording of revenue, costs, vendor invoices and customer invoices against respective jobs.
• Review job costing, including cost and sell entries, to ensure accurate profit margins.
• Monitor job profitability and investigate discrepancies in revenue and expenses.
• Ensure all completed jobs are properly invoiced and financially closed.
• Review WIP, unbilled revenue, accrued costs and outstanding job balances.
• Coordinate with Operations teams to resolve missing cost and revenue entries.

· Manage weekly accounts payable activities, including invoice verification, booking and payment processing.

· Verify vendor invoices against job details, supporting documents and agreed rates.

· Obtain and review vendor Statements of Account (SOA) before processing payments.

· Prepare weekly payment proposals and payment reports for management approval.

· Monitor vendor ageing and ensure overdue invoices are addressed promptly.

· Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies, short payments and duplicate invoices.

· Coordinate with vendors regarding payment confirmations and outstanding balances.

· Prepare and circulate customer Statements of Account (SOA) on a weekly basis.

· Follow up with customers for overdue payments and outstanding invoices.

· Monitor AR ageing and prepare weekly collection reports.

· Track customer payment commitments and provide regular collection updates to management.

· Allocate customer receipts accurately against outstanding invoices.

· Investigate payment differences, short payments, credit notes and unapplied cash.

· Review open WIP, unbilled revenue and outstanding accrual balances.

· Follow up on aged accruals and ensure timely clearance.

· Perform month-end accounting activities and ensure timely closure of books.

· Identify missing vendor invoices and ensure appropriate cost accruals are recorded.

· Ensure timely responses to customer and vendor accounting queries.

Qualifications

· Should be only from freight forwarding industry only. We only need candidates who has worked in freight forwarding accounts and the one who understands the industry.

· Must have worked in similar roles and responsible for accounting in a company.

· Should have good communication skills both Voice and Email.

· 3 -6 years of work experience in above areas from the Freight Forwarding Industry. USA market experience would be an advantage.

· Should be a good learner and willing to work from office full time.

Pay: ₹55,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
