Job Description

Job Title: Senior Accountant. Company: Ruia Cars Pvt. Ltd. Location: Nazirabad, Kolkata Reports to: Finance Manager / Head Accountant Job Summary: The accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions, and preparing financial statements. The role involves handling day-to-day accounting tasks, tax filings, payroll management, and supporting the Finance Manager in budgeting and audits. Key Responsibilities: General Accounting: Maintain day-to-day financial transactions, including posting entries to the general ledger, reconciling accounts, and managing petty cash. Invoicing & Billing: Generate and process invoices for clients, ensure timely payments, and manage accounts receivable. Expense Management: Monitor company expenses and ensure proper documentation and approval of payments. Payroll: Process monthly payroll for employees, including calculating salaries, deductions, and bonuses. Tax Compliance: Prepare and file GST returns, TDS, and other statutory payments, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations. Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with the company’s financial records on a regular basis to ensure accuracy. Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Budgeting: Support the Finance Manager in preparing the annual budget and monitoring expenses against budgeted figures. Auditing: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary financial data and supporting documentation. Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with vendors, process payments, and resolve any financial discrepancies. Qualifications & Skills Required: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a car rental and real-estate or any other service industry. Accounting Software: Proficient in Tally, Zoho Books, or other accounting software. Tax Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and other Indian tax regulations. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Hindi and Bengali. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and financial analysis. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Working Hours: Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM Flexibility required during month-end and year-end financial closing. Salary: ₹23,000 - ₹25,000 or more, based on experience and qualifications.
