Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Senior Accountant with strong practical knowledge of accounting, taxation, statutory compliances and finalisation of books of accounts. The candidate should be capable of independently handling accounting and compliance work for multiple clients of a Chartered Accountancy firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently maintain and finalise books of accounts of companies, firms, LLPs and other entities.
• Work proficiently on Tally Prime, including accounting entries, inventory, GST/TDS ledgers, bank reconciliation, backup and data restoration.
• Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9) and reconcile ITC with GSTR-2B.
• Calculate TDS, prepare challans, file quarterly TDS returns and handle TDS reconciliations and corrections.
• Prepare and file Income Tax Returns (ITR) for individuals, HUFs, partnership firms, LLPs, companies and trusts.
• Work on income-tax computation and return-filing software such as Spectrum, Computax, Winman or similar software.
• Assist in statutory audits, tax audits, preparation of Form 3CD and related documentation.
• Prepare financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account and supporting schedules.
• Handle routine ROC compliances and filings, including AOC-4, MGT-7/MGT-7A and other applicable forms.
• Reconcile bank accounts, debtors, creditors, loans, advances, GST and TDS balances.
• Coordinate with clients for accounting records, compliance requirements and documentation.
• Maintain proper working papers and ensure timely completion of statutory compliances.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of practical accounting and taxation experience, preferably with a Chartered Accountancy firm.
• Strong hands-on working knowledge of Tally Prime.
• Practical experience in GST, TDS and income-tax return preparation and filing.
• Knowledge of finalisation of accounts and audit procedures.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables and reconciliation functions.
• Familiarity with income-tax and TDS return-filing software.
• Ability to handle multiple clients independently and meet statutory deadlines.
• Good communication skills, accuracy and a responsible approach towards work.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates having previous experience in a Chartered Accountancy firm and independently handling bookkeeping, GST, TDS, income tax and audit assignments will be preferred.

Salary

Salary: Commensurate with experience, technical knowledge and practical skills.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will undergo a technical interview covering practical accounting, Tally Prime, GST, TDS, Income Tax and finalisation of accounts. A practical software test may also be conducted.
