The candidate is expected to work with an inter-disciplinary team on mechanical engineering aspects of the product development. The mechanical design team at SEDEMAC works predominantly on electronic controller packaging/casing design and electric motor design, for serial manufacturing and prototyping purposes. Major Responsibilities: Design mechanical casing/packaging of electronic controllers, which many a times are expected to comply with ingress-protection specifications such as IP6K9K, IP67 etc., and expected to have immunity against vibrations, such as those experienced during on-road vehicular operation. In SEDEMAC’s context, power electronic controllers such as traction controllers have particularly complex mechanical assemblies. Maintain up-to-date documentation related to safety inspections, audits, and other compliance activities. Conduct a daily plant round, looking for unsafe acts and conditions. Record these & work with the concerned departments for corrective actions and follow up by promptly monitoring closure reports. Risk assessment and hazard identification for every task or workstation. Work permit issuance and follow-up. Verify that contractors working within the premises are adhering to safety regulations and rules. Ensure timely recording of environmental, health, and safety incidents, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective action plans. Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPEs) is available, issued, and used. Conduct EHS training as per training plan. Conduct safety induction training to all newly joined employees. Ensure that hazardous waste is collected, stored, and disposed off properly and the records are maintained in accordance with the rules. Ensure management of Flammable Liquids and Hazardous chemicals as per requirements. Ensure environment monitoring of Ambient air, Stack, Water, Noise and drinking water. Ensure testing of pressure vessel & lifting tools and tackles by competent people before the due date. Conduct testing of air quality, noise, temperature, or illumination levels to verify compliance with health and safety regulations. Ensure availability of First Aid Boxes, Medical Room, Ambulance and training to First Aid Team. Update Emergency Response Plan, conduct training to Emergency Response Teams and conduct Mock Drill. Reporting to Lead Executive, EHS (& To Manager, EHS in absence of LE, EHS) Technical Skills and Experience: Ensure operation and maintenance of ETP/STP Plant to meet regulatory standards. Follow up & Inspection, maintaining with all Fire Extinguishers/Fire Hydrant/Smoke Detectors systems & coordinate with external AMC. Plan, co-ordinate and participate in EHS Audits and inspections. Identification & evaluation of hazards and its analysis, planning and implementing control measures to reduce hazards and review frequently. Prepare documents for JSA and HIRA. Document safety inspections, mentioning dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures, mitigating potential hazards.
