Job Title Service / Sales & Service Engineer – Weighing Balances & Laboratory Instruments Role Summary Responsible for installation, calibration, service, and technical support of weighing balances and laboratory instruments at customer sites, along with basic application support and customer training. The role may also involve presales activities such as demonstrations, technical discussions, and supporting the sales team with application knowledge. Key Responsibilities Install, commission, and calibrate analytical, precision, and industrial balances, moisture analyzers, and related lab instruments at customer sites. Perform preventive maintenance, breakdown service, and troubleshooting for weighing systems and laboratory equipment (hardware, electronics, and basic software/interface issues). Carry out on-site calibration and coordinate stamping / verification with Legal Metrology where applicable. Prepare service reports, installation reports, and calibration certificates in line with company procedures and regulatory / quality requirements (GMP/GLP where applicable). Provide user training on operation, routine maintenance, and best practices for weighing and lab instruments. Support sales team by conducting product demonstrations, application discussions, and technical clarifications for customers in pharma, R&D, QA/QC, and industrial labs. Maintain good customer relationships, ensure timely response to service calls, and support AMC/CMC renewals and spares/service revenue. Maintain tools, test weights, and service inventory in good condition and comply with all safety, quality, and documentation requirements. Qualifications Diploma / Degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical, Biomedical, or related engineering discipline. 1–3 years of experience in weighing balances and/or laboratory instruments service or sales-service; freshers with strong aptitude may also be considered. Basic knowledge of calibration, weighing principles, and laboratory workflows; exposure to pharma/QA/QC/GLP environments is an added advantage. Familiarity with computer interfaces (RS232/USB/Ethernet) and basic software communication with instruments is desirable. Skills & Competencies Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in electronics and electro-mechanical systems. Good communication skills in English and local language for customer interaction and training. Customer-oriented mindset with willingness to travel frequently for site visits and service calls. Ability to work independently in the field, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate documentation.
