Job Description

As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, creating, modifying, and validating embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs to launch cutting-edge, world-class products that exceed customer needs. You will collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and gather information on performance requirements and interfaces. Your responsibilities will include: - Applying software knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs. - Analyzing user needs and software requirements to customize software for optimal operational efficiency. - Designing and implementing software modules for products and systems. - Participating in the design, coding for large features, unit testing, significant debugging fixes, and integration efforts to ensure projects are completed to specifications and schedules. - Performing code reviews, regression tests, triaging, and fixing issues to maintain high code quality. - Collaborating with project teams to achieve project objectives. - Writing technical documentation for software projects. Qualcomm prefers candidates with the following qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 2+ years of software engineering experience, or Master's degree with 1+ year of experience, or PhD in a related field. - 2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages like C, C++, Java, Python, etc. - 3 to 6 years of work experience in embedded software and/or driver development. - Detail-oriented with strong analytical and debugging skills. - Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for effective teamwork. - Extensive knowledge of C/C++ programming. - Working knowledge of Device Driver Programming in Linux/RTOS like QNX/Greenhills. - Proficiency in industry-standard software development tools like debuggers, code revision control systems (GIT, Perforce), IDEs, and build tools. In this role, you will work under supervision, and your decision-making may impact work beyond your immediate group. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for conveying information. You may need basic negotiation, influence, and tact skills. Problem-solving, planning, and prioritization are crucial for completing tasks effectively.
