Road Construction Supervisor oversees daily road construction and maintenance, managing crews, equipment, and materials to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Key duties include inspecting work for quality, enforcing safety regulations, interpreting blueprints, and liaising with contractors and engineers. Key ResponsibilitiesSite Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling personnel, assigning tasks, and managing subcontractors.Safety Compliance: Enforce strict health and safety standards (OSHA) to prevent accidents and ensure a secure, compliant work environment.Quality Control: Inspect ongoing road work to ensure it meets engineering specifications, project plans, and local codes.Resource Coordination: Order and manage materials, machinery, and equipment, ensuring availability to avoid downtime.Budget & Scheduling: Monitor project expenditures and progress, ensuring adherence to the timeline and financial goals.Reporting: Maintain accurate logs of project progress, labor, materials, and equipment usage. Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or construction management is preferred.Experience: Several years of experience in road construction, usually with prior leadership or foreman experience.Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, equipment, and local/state safety regulations.Skills: Effective communication, leadership, problem-solving, and proficiency in reading, interpreting, and applying blueprints and drawings. Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently stoop, bend, and kneel.Capacity to lift and move objects up to 75 lbs, working in varying weather conditions.
