You will be responsible for coding medical reports by assigning appropriate CPT & ICD codes based on the documentation and client specifications. Your tasks will include working on medical reports to assign proper CPT, ICD, and modifiers accurately and efficiently within client SLAs. In case of any issues, you should communicate and escalate them to seniors promptly. It is essential to stay updated with the latest codes and medical knowledge, supporting your team members to achieve common objectives. You will need a good understanding of Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology to determine basic treatment protocols. Advanced knowledge of CMS/MAC guidance, Coding Skills, ICD-10-CM, and CPT is necessary. Certification as a Medical Coder (CPC, COC, CIC, CCS) with at least 1 year of experience in Workers Compensation Claims is preferred. You should be able to identify causes of claim denials and consistently enhance coding standards. Experience in using electronic medical records applications, especially PrognoCIS and Daisy Bill, will be an advantage. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medical codes, and billing terminology is crucial. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are essential in this role.
