River Valley School

Nestled against the majestic Bow River in Northwest Calgary, River Valley School is a unique co-educational elementary and pre-school, with two distinct streams - Progressive and Montessori. River Valley School is also the sole provider of Arrowsmith Programming in Alberta. The Progressive stream is a pedagogical approach incorporating inquiry-based learning with low student-teacher ratios, and a scheduled and diverse school day.The Montessori stream differs in approach, offering mixed-age classrooms and following the child within a prepared environment authentic to Montessori principles. Both streams provide students with specialist instruction in specific environments for the fine arts, language, and physical education. Following Grade 6, graduates are welcomed by leading Calgary schools, where they are natural leaders and achieve great success.
