This is a ground leadership role responsible for autonomous flight operations, hub readiness, compliance, team leadership, community acceptance, and emergency preparedness. You will serve as the nerve center of field execution, bridging Redwing’s engineering excellence with last-mile public health needs. What You’ll Own 1. Flight Operations Leadership Lead daily drone operations across hubs and delivery nodes in compliance with DGCA and internal SOPs. Resolve on-ground technical, logistical, and weather-related flight disruptions swiftly. Serve as operations lead during high-priority and emergency deliveries. 2. Team Hiring, Training & Management Hire and train local talent as Flight Operators and Technicians. Build and mentor a high-performing team with a safety-first and mission-oriented mindset. Conduct regular assessments, safety drills, and skill refreshers. 3. Technical Infrastructure Oversight Ensure operational readiness of drones, ground control stations, charging units, and spare inventory. Coordinate with engineering teams for rapid fault resolution, preventive maintenance, and upgrades. Monitor drone uptime, airworthiness, and system reliability across sites. 4. Health System & Payload Integration Collaborate with MedOps Leads to align flight plans with medical workflows and urgency. Maintain traceability, compliance, and SOPs for cold chain and sensitive medical payloads. Support seamless integration of drone deliveries into district health operations. 5. Compliance & Documentation Ensure full BVLOS compliance with DGCA, MoCA, MoHFW, and internal Redwing protocols. Maintain meticulous flight logs, incident reports, maintenance schedules, and KPI dashboards. Submit regular reports to HQ, partners, and state authorities. 6. Stakeholder & Government Liaison Represent Redwing Ops in district-level coordination meetings and airspace discussions. Interface with local law enforcement, ATC, airspace authorities, and government officers. Contribute to safety briefings, capacity-building sessions, and onboarding workshops. 7. Community Engagement Drive sensitization and outreach campaigns in local villages and tribal communities. Address concerns around drones, privacy, and safety to build grassroots trust. Promote community ownership and acceptance of drone-based health delivery. 8. Emergency Preparedness & Risk Mitigation Develop risk maps and SOPs for adverse weather, terrain limitations, and operational challenges. Lead drills, simulations, and contingency planning for emergency medical logistics. Be the first responder during flight-related incidents or equipment failures. 9. Financial Management Handle program-level financials, petty cash, and vendor payouts. Ensure cost-effective operations and support for forecasting and budgeting. Track P&L metrics for field activities. 10. Media & External Communication Support media teams in field storytelling and drone demonstrations. Confidently represent Redwing in media interactions, delegations, and public events. What You’ll Bring Qualifications Graduate/Postgraduate in Aviation, Aerospace, Engineering, Remote Sensing, or equivalent technical fields. MBA is a strong plus. DGCA RPTO certification or drone pilot instructor credentials is highly preferred. 4–6 years in managing autonomous drone/UAS operations or aviation logistics. Must have direct BVLOS flying or drone team management experience in India. Experience in rural or public health deployments is a plus.
