Job Title: Distribution Sales EXECUTIVE Role Purpose / Objective: To build, manage and grow the distribution network, ensuring products reach retailers/wholesalers effectively and sales targets are met. To ensure efficient supply through distribution channels, maintain product visibility, optimize stock, and maximize market penetration. Key Responsibilities: Distributor / Channel Partner Management Select, appoint, onboard, and evaluate distributors/wholesalers in assigned territory. Maintain strong relationships with existing distributors, provide support (sales tools, training, promotions). Monitor distributor performance (sales, inventory, coverage) and ensure compliance with agreements. Sales Strategy & Execution Develop and execute sales plans / territory plans to meet revenue, volume and profitability targets. Analyze market potential, competition, trends and customer needs; adjust strategy accordingly. Activate promotions, trade programs, merchandising initiatives via distributors to push product visibility and sale. Distribution & Inventory Control Ensure product availability at distributor level and through to retailers. Maintain inventory, manage orders, reduce stockouts or overstocking. Monitor flow of goods, logistics issues, delivery performance. Forecasting, Budgeting & Reporting Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, distributor targets, periodic reports of sales / performance. Provide insights / MIS on sales trends, market share, competitor activity. Team Leadership & Coordination If applicable, lead / train / supervise team members (sales executives, trade promotions, field staff). Collaborate with internal teams — Marketing, Product, Logistics / Supply Chain — to align efforts (promotions, product launches etc.). Customer / Market Engagement Visit distributors, retailers, key accounts; understand field issues, evaluate visibility/in-store execution. Collect feedback from market on product acceptance, pricing, competition. Use insights to improve offering. Miscellaneous Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards. Sometimes travel extensively in assigned territory. Required Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or related. Sometimes Master’s (MBA) preferred especially for senior roles. Experience: Freshers also eligible or A few years in sales/distribution roles; Experience in working through channel partners, distributors; experience with direct & indirect sales. Skills: Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Analytical mindset: ability to interpret data, forecast, track KPI, use market intelligence. Strategic planning, customer relationship management. Organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks, often under pressure. Knowledge of CRM tools, MS Office, maybe inventory / order management systems. Other: Flexibility to travel. Good understanding of the territory (local markets, competing products).
