Role & responsibilities Market Intelligence & Customer Development Identify and target key customers across geographies. Build prospect intelligence pipeline: Research tender opportunities, project pipelines, and regulatory requirements. Conduct competitive win/loss analysis: Map competitive positioning against local and global competition Business Development & Relationship Management Lead multi-stage sales cycle: B2B procurement pipelines Develop strategic key accounts Manage tender responses: Coordinate internal teams to prepare technical bids, commercial proposals, and compliance documentation for tenders Establish regional partnerships Cross-Functional Coordination Liaison with Operations & Engineering Coordinate with Quality & Certification Market Representation Follow, analyse and find methods of extracting business opportunities from global rail exhibitions, trade fairs, industry-specific forums etc. Publish thought leadership: Co-author articles on forged wheel technology advantages, Indian manufacturing capabilities, or supply chain diversification trends with focus on firm visibility and market intelligence leadership. Core Competencies 1. Domain expertise in rail/rolling stock manufacturing 12+ years of experience in railway wheels, axles, wheelsets, or related rail components with experience of international market OR equivalent experience in heavy forging/casting for automotive, aerospace, or industrial applications with ability to apply to rail and the experience of international market Working knowledge of standards Understanding of wheel-rail interaction, fatigue life, heat treatment processes (hardening, tempering), and metallurgical specifications International B2B sales & business development Proven track record of developing new markets for niche industrial products (not selling existing relationships) Experience navigating complex, long-cycle sales (6-18 months) with multiple stakeholders Success in tender-based procurement environments (responding to RFQs, government e-tendering, reverse auctions) International business acumen Comfortable with global supply chain complexities (lead times, shipping, documentation, customs) Knowledge of regional rail standards and procurement practices Preferred candidate profile Resilience & tenacity: Ability to persist through long sales cycles, rejections, market setbacks with the capability to work independently. Research orientation: Comfort with deep market analysis, competitive intelligence, and gathering data before pitching Intellectual curiosity: Interest in learning metallurgical processes, global rail policy, and infrastructure trends Networking ability: Strong professional network in rail industry (LinkedIn connections, industry associations, peer relationships) What We're Looking For: Qualifications B.E./B.
