This bid will close in October 2025 and the work is expected to start around March 2026. Location: Mumbai / Ahmedabad / Surat Background: The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor spans approximately 508 km with 12 planned stations between Mumbai and Sabarmati, along with three major depots. The system will be operated using ETCS Level 2, with the main Operational Control Centre (OCC) at Sabarmati and a functional OCC at Surat Depot, later serving as a Backup Control Centre (BCC) for redundancy and training. The Consultant is responsible for full compliance with ETCS Level 2 specifications, including subsystem verification (balises, RBCs, LEUs, and onboard units) in line with ERA TSI standards, validation of configuration data for trackside and onboard components, and ensuring traceability across version-controlled records. Additional responsibilities include participation in closed-loop testing of ETCS components, covering radio communication, balise integrity, and fallback scenarios (including STM interfacing if relevant). In case the OCC is inoperable, centralized control will be shifted to the BCC. Indigenous rolling stock, with a maximum operational speed of 249 kmph and design speed of 280 kmph, is being developed by ICF Chennai and will be tested on the corridor, which has been designed for a maximum speed of 350 kmph and intended to operate progressively up to 320 kmph as designated rolling stock becomes available.
