**Location:** Hyderabad, Telangana (Hybrid/On-site Flexible) **Project:** Kisan Suvidha Portal (Mobile-First Agri-Tech Platform) --- ## The Mission You will be our **first technical hire** and the engineering cornerstone of a platform designed to create tangible economic impact for smallholder Indian farmers. Your mission is to build the robust, scalable data infrastructure that powers all farmer-facing services, from precise fertilizer calculations to real-time market price alerts. --- ## Key Responsibilities ### I. Data & API Infrastructure * **Design and Implement APIs:** Develop and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs using **Python (Flask/Django)** to connect our mobile frontend to the data backend. * **Data Integration Pipelines:** Build resilient connectors to ingest time-sensitive data from external sources, including government portals (e.g., e-NAM Mandi prices) and third-party weather APIs (e.g., IMD). * **Data Modeling:** Architect the underlying database structure (leveraging **Google Firestore** or similar) to efficiently store and retrieve farmer-specific data. ### II. Core Logic & Calculation * **Tactical Logic Development:** Translate complex agricultural science—including algorithms for the **NPK Fertilizer Optimizer** and regional pest/disease forecasting—into clean, reliable, and scalable code. * **Performance Engineering:** Optimize data query and calculation speeds to ensure farmers receive instant, actionable advice even on low-bandwidth networks. ### III. Scalability & Deployment * **Cloud Architecture:** Set up and manage the platform on a major cloud provider (**GCP, AWS, or Azure**), focusing on cost efficiency and horizontal scalability. * **Security & Reliability:** Implement best practices for data security and develop monitoring tools to ensure 24/7 uptime during critical farming seasons. --- ## Required Qualifications * **Experience:** 3+ years of professional experience in Backend or Data Engineering roles. * **Core Languages:** Expert proficiency in **Python** is mandatory. * **API Mastery:** Proven track record of building, documenting, and deploying robust REST APIs. * **Data Handling:** Strong experience with relational or non-relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Firestore). * **Cloud Proficiency:** Practical experience deploying and managing applications using serverless technologies (e.g., AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions) or containerization (Docker). * **Domain:** Prior experience or strong interest in **Agri-tech** or social impact projects is highly desirable. ## Why Join Us?
