Position Title: Production Manager – Production (Radiator Manufacturing) Department: Radiator Manufacturing / Fabrication Location: Savli / Manjusar GIDC, Vadodara Reporting To: Partners / Unit Head (Candidate must be comfortable working directly under partners in a lean organizational structure.) Salary Package: As per experience and interview performance 1. Position Overview The Production Manager – Radiator Manufacturing is responsible for managing daily shop-floor production operations, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery of transformer radiators through effective coordination of manpower, processes, and resources. This role is part of a newly established manufacturing unit. The Production Manager will be involved in setting up processes, stabilizing production, and supporting the growth of operations from an early stage. 2. Key Responsibilities A. Production Planning & Control · Plan and allocate daily and weekly production schedules for radiator panels, headers, and assemblies. · Ensure proper sequencing of cutting, forming, welding, finishing, testing, and dispatch operations. · Monitor production output to achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets while optimizing manpower, machines, tools, and materials. B. Process & Shop-Floor Management · Ensure strict adherence to approved drawings, SOPs, and defined process flow. · Monitor welding parameters, dimensional accuracy, leak testing, pressure testing, and painting quality. · Ensure correct usage of jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments, and handling equipment. · Drive shop-floor discipline, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Lean practices). C. Quality Assurance · Ensure radiators meet quality requirements as per IS / IEC standards. · Coordinate with QA/QC for in-process and final inspections. · Ensure 100% compliance in leak testing, pressure testing, and surface finish. · Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). D. Manpower Leadership & Coordination · Lead and supervise welders, fabricators, machine operators, helpers, and supervisors. · Manage attendance, shift allocation, overtime, discipline, and skill development of shop-floor teams. · Coordinate with stores and purchase teams for timely availability of sheets, tubes, plates, consumables, gases, and paints. E. Maintenance & Equipment Coordination · Ensure proper upkeep and availability of welding machines, cutting machines, painting booths, pressure testing setups, and material handling equipment. · Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime. F. Safety, Compliance & Reporting · Enforce safety procedures in fabrication, welding, and painting areas; ensure mandatory PPE usage. · Conduct toolbox talks and ensure compliance with safety norms. · Maintain daily production reports, rejection reports, MIS, shift logs, and internal audit documentation (ISO, OHSAS, etc.). 3. Hands-On Experience Required (Mandatory) · 5–10 years of direct shop-floor experience in radiator manufacturing, fabrication, transformer industry, or similar heavy engineering setup. · Strong hands-on exposure to: o Welding processes (ARC / MIG) o Sheet metal fabrication and assembly o Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings o Leak testing and pressure testing processes o Use of measuring instruments and jigs/fixtures · Proven experience managing 10-30 shop-floor workers . 4. Qualifications & Skills Education: Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering (preferred) Skills · Strong leadership and shop-floor control skills · Ability to troubleshoot production, quality, and manpower issues · Working knowledge of ERP / production software preferred · Good communication and coordination skills · Safety-focused, disciplined, and result-oriented mindset 5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) · Achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets · On-time delivery to assembly and dispatch · Reduction in rework, rejection, and downtime · Compliance with quality, safety, and audit requirements · Manpower productivity and discipline 6. Important Note This role requires active involvement on the shop floor and close coordination with the company partners and offers an opportunity to grow along with the organization as operations scale.
