Quantity Surveyor Manager

Role & responsibilities

1. Quantity Estimation Accuracy:

   Accuracy of initial quantities against validated drawings and approved scope.

2. BBS Accuracy:

   Correct calculation of reinforcement diameters, cutting lengths, bar quantities, and steel weights.

3. BOQ Completeness:

   Identification and measurement of all required construction items.

4. Tender Estimation Timeliness:

   Submission of complete quantity take-offs and estimates within deadlines.

5. Rate Analysis Accuracy:

   Reliability of item-wise construction rates and cost breakdowns.

6. Billing Accuracy:

   Accuracy of contractor measurements, interim bills, and final account assessments.

7. Variation Management:

   Timely identification, quantification, and documentation of changes in scope.

8. Material Reconciliation:

   Accuracy of theoretical versus actual material consumption and investigation of unexplained deviations.

9. Cost Forecasting:

   Reliability of remaining quantity estimates and final project cost forecasts.

10. Documentation Quality:

    Completeness and traceability of drawings, measurement sheets, BBS, BOQs, and commercial records.

11. Commercial Protection:

    Prevention of duplicate billing, unsupported quantities, missed variations, and avoidable measurement errors.

12. Coordination Efficiency:

    Timely communication of quantity changes and commercial implications to relevant departments.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in quantity surveying, construction estimation, BOQ preparation, billing, or commercial management.
• Strong ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
• Practical experience in preparing BBS and calculating reinforcement steel and concrete quantities.
• Good understanding of construction materials, measurement methods, rate analysis, and tender documentation.
• Experience in contractor billing, site measurements, variation assessment, and final account preparation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with estimation software, quantity take-off tools, BIM, or Revit will be an added advantage.
• Strong numerical, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, site teams, and management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict tendering and billing deadlines.
