Hiring Organization: Medical College & Hospitals (Various Locations across Bihar) Position: Nursing Superintendent (NS) Department: Nursing Services Employment Type: Full-time Reporting To: Medical Superintendent / Medical Director / CEO (Hospital) Role Purpose Lead and manage hospital-wide nursing services to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centric care, effective staffing/rostering, compliance with clinical standards, and strong coordination with medical and support teams. Key Responsibilities Overall supervision of nursing services across IPD wards, ICU, OT, Emergency, OPD, Labour Room, and specialty units. Ensure adherence to nursing protocols/SOPs, documentation standards, patient safety practices, and ethical conduct. Manage staffing planning, duty rosters, deployment, leave management, and contingency staffing. Drive nursing quality indicators (falls, pressure injuries, medication safety, documentation audits, patient satisfaction). Ensure infection control and biomedical waste compliance; coordinate audits and corrective actions. Lead nursing training, mentoring, and competency assessment programs. Coordinate with Medical Administration, HR, Quality, Pharmacy, Stores, Biomedical, and other departments for smooth operations. Handle nursing-related escalations, patient grievances, and service recovery. Eligibility Qualification: B.Sc. Nursing/GNM (Mandatory); M.Sc. Nursing ( Preferred) Registration: Valid State Nursing Council / INC registration (as applicable) Experience: 10–15 years in multi-specialty/teaching hospital, including 3–5 years in a nursing leadership role (Matron/Deputy NS/Nursing Manager/Senior Supervisor). Desired Competencies Strong leadership, manpower planning, and team management Knowledge of patient safety, IPC, nursing documentation, and hospital operations Good communication skills (Hindi/English preferred) and basic computer literacy (HIS/EMR preferred) Work Location Multiple Medical College & Hospital locations across Bihar (posting as per requirement).
