Engineer/Sr. Engineer – Maintenance (Purchase)

Key Responsibilities

• Handle procurement of indirect materials, including maintenance spares, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) items, consumables, tools, safety items, and general engineering supplies.
• Manage sourcing and procurement for repair services, annual maintenance contracts (AMCs), and facility-related requirements.
• Execute CAPEX procurement activities, including obtaining quotations, techno-commercial evaluations, negotiations, and purchase order release.
• Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base for maintenance and indirect procurement requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms to achieve cost optimization.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, Finance, and Stores teams to ensure timely availability of materials and services.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality, delivery, and contractual commitments.
• Maintain procurement records, MIS reports, and documentation in ERP systems.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and supplier development.
• Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and statutory compliance.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of indirect procurement, MRO purchasing, maintenance spares, consumables, repair services, and CAPEX procurement.
• Experience in vendor development, supplier evaluation, and commercial negotiations.
• Understanding of maintenance operations and engineering materials.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent) and MS Excel.
• Good analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• Certification in Supply Chain or Procurement will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 4–5 years of experience in indirect purchasing within a manufacturing or engineering organization.
• Hands-on experience in procurement of maintenance consumables, MRO items, repair services, and CAPEX equipment.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cost optimization skills.
• Experience working with ERP-based procurement processes.
