Role Overview
The Project Engineer – HVAC will be responsible for end-to-end execution of HVAC projects, including planning, installation supervision, coordination with stakeholders, testing, commissioning, and handover. The role requires strong site-management skills and hands-on knowledge of HVAC systems such as chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV, ducting, piping, pumps, cooling towers, and ventilation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, monitor, and control HVAC project activities from kickoff through final handover, ensuring completion within schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
- Supervise installation of HVAC equipment and systems, including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV systems, cooling towers, pumps, ducting, piping, insulation, and ventilation systems.
- Review approved drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, shop drawings, method statements, and vendor submittals before and during execution.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, procurement, design, electrical, civil, and plumbing teams to resolve site issues and ensure smooth execution.
- Allocate manpower, tools, materials, and subcontractor resources to meet daily and weekly project targets.
- Monitor progress against the project schedule, prepare daily/weekly progress reports, MIS reports, material consumption records, and site documentation.
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure workmanship complies with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and company standards.
- Support testing, adjusting, balancing, commissioning, performance checks, and troubleshooting during installation and handover stages.
- Ensure compliance with site safety norms, statutory requirements, and HSE procedures.
- Prepare measurement sheets, obtain client/consultant approvals, maintain commissioning records, and support project closeout and handover documentation.
- Escalate technical or commercial risks, delays, design discrepancies, and material shortages to project management in a timely manner.
Candidate Profile
- Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in HVAC project execution, site supervision, installation, testing, or commissioning.
- Technical knowledge: Familiarity with chilled-water systems, VRF/VRV systems, ducting, piping, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, cooling towers, ventilation, and plant-room configurations.
- Documentation: Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, BOQs, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Tools: Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Project or similar planning tools
- Soft skills: Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel and work at project sites across Mumbai and Gujarat.
