Proem Sports is a sportstech firm working with sport and live event organisations to drive commercial performance. We have built a customer data platform which unifies data from all fan touchpoints to provide in-depth analytics, a fan segmentation engine and marketing capabilities to deliver actionable insights along with engagement capabilities. We are looking for a Backend Engineer with solid experience building reliable, scalable backend systems using Python and Django . This role is ideal for someone with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in backend development. You will work closely with our product and engineering teams to design APIs, build high-performance services, and integrate with various internal and external systems. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services and REST APIs using Python and Django . Design efficient database schemas and write performant SQL queries. Build and maintain integrations with third-party services and internal tools. Work with AWS services such as E C2, DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, SES to build scalable cloud-based solutions. Contribute to system architecture discussions and help improve application performance and reliability. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA teams. Participate in code reviews, CI/CD improvements, and deployment processes. Requirements: 2–3 years of hands-on experience with Python and Django . Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL . Experience with AWS services : EC2, DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, SES . Familiarity with REST API design principles. Experience working with Git, Docker, and modern CI/CD workflows. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with Databricks or PySpark. Knowledge of SQLAlchemy . Experience with WhatsApp Business API or similar messaging integrations. Familiarity with asynchronous tasks ( Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ ). Understanding of event-driven architectures or microservices.
