Production Planning & Control Engineer Team Leader

PPC for a refurbished laptop manufacturing/refurbishment plant is responsible for managing the end-to-end production flow, from inbound bulk/lease/returned laptop triage and grading to component kitting, assembly, OS/software imaging, quality inspection, and final outbound dispatch. Unlike traditional manufacturing, refurbished electronics require agile handling of variable inbound grades, component harvesting, spare parts availability, and strict turnaround times (TAT). You will lead a small team of planners, controllers, and line coordinators to hit daily and monthly refurbishment targets within cost and quality parameters.

Role & responsibilities

1. Master Production Scheduling & Refurbishment Planning  Translate sales orders, B2B/B2C demand forecasts into daily and weekly master production schedules (MPS).  Manage the inflow of incoming "raw/used" laptops (Lot Preparation) and coordinate grading/sorting priorities based on market demand or requirments.  Establish and monitor realistic cycle times and turnaround times (TAT) for various tiers/specs of refurbished laptops (e.g., i5 vs. i7, budget vs. business-class series).  Develops and prepares Monthly, Weekly, and Daily Production Plans and Master Production Schedules (MPS) based on customer demand and sales forecasts, balancing requirements against available capacity and ensuring adherence to production targets and delivery commitments.

2. Material & Component Control (BOM & Spares)  Manage Bill of Materials (BOM) for diverse laptop brands and models (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.), accounting for upgrade paths (e.g., SSD swaps, RAM upgrades, battery replacements, keyboard overlays).  Coordinate with the Procurement/Sourcing team to ensure zero-line-stoppage availability of critical spare parts, LCDs, batteries, adapters, and packaging materials.  Track component scrap, yield rates, and cannibalization/harvesting logs from non repairable units.

3. Shop Floor Control, Routing & Dispatch  Oversee the routing of units through repair/refurbishment benches, testing stations, grading, and packing.  Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) bottlenecks across multi-shift or assembly-line setups.  Coordinate daily stand-ups with line supervisors to resolve material shortages, technical bottlenecks, or re-work loops.

4. Team Leadership & Capacity Management  Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of PPC executives, production controllers, and floor coordinators.  Align workforce capacity and shift schedules with daily output targets and fluctuating order volumes.  Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs)—such as First-Pass On-Time Delivery (OTD), WIP turnaround, and inventory accuracy.

5. ERP / System Management & Compliance  Maintain real-time data accuracy in ERP / MRP systems regarding stock levels, serial number tracking (IMEI/Service Tag tracking), and finished goods dispatch.  Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), data-wiping security standards (e.g., Iken/ Blancco audit trails), and 5S workplace organization standards.

6. Cross Functional Coordination  Collaborates extensively with various departments including Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics to resolve supply chain and production constraints and support.

7. Inventory Management  Drives initiatives for inventory optimization, monitors inventory turns and stock health, works to reduce excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory, and ensures the accuracy of production-related inventory records.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
