The Job Profile
We have an exciting vacancy for a Product Manager, Childrens, to join our energetic Product India team.
Reporting to the Product & Procurement Director, the Product Manager, Childrens will be responsible for building and developing the children’s books portfolio for the India market. Children’s books represent an important growth opportunity across schools, parents, institutions, retail, online platforms and distribution channels.
The Job Role
The Product Manager will be responsible for developing and growing the children’s books portfolio for the Indian market by identifying and evaluating relevant titles from S&S UK, S&S US and client publishers. This will include managing the title pipeline, supporting list planning, pricing and positioning, identifying market opportunities, and providing product recommendations to distribution clients. Working closely with sales, marketing and distribution teams, the Product Manager will monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer demand, drive the visibility and performance of the children’s list, and develop a commercially attractive portfolio to support the company’s distribution growth strategy.
The Candidate Profile
The Product Manager will have a strong understanding of the children’s books market, excellent commercial, analytical and product selection skills, and the ability to identify new titles and market opportunities.
They will have experience in product management, publishing, editorial, sales, category management or a related field, ideally within the children’s books, education, retail or e-commerce sectors. Experience in book selection, list planning and working with publishers, distributors or international publishing organisations would be an advantage. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.
