Principal Engineer I, HW

As a Telematics HW Project lead at HARMAN Automotive, you will be responsible for the HW development of Telematics platform/customer programs with the support from internal cross-functional team members and external suppliers. Your role will involve co-working with CPM and ECE team to ensure high quality and on-time delivery. - Engineer audio systems and integrated technology platforms that augment the driving experience. - Combine ingenuity, in-depth research, and a spirit of collaboration with design and engineering excellence. - Advance in-vehicle infotainment, safety, efficiency, and enjoyment. Key Responsibilities: - Work together with global teams in Germany/US/Korea/China for the internal platform development and global customers. - Define the HW development schedule and commitment of delivery with the CPM or PM team. - Breakdown tasks and assign them to internal or external teams with regular tracking. - Identify high-risk items and develop mitigation plans with the team throughout the development phase. - Ensure HW quality, schedule within planned cost, and engineering efforts. - Collaborate with HW Qualification team to ensure product compliance with regulations and customer reliability requirements. - Work with Advanced manufacturing team to ensure the design fits production and support them in defining the manufacturing test specification. - Manage the ODM suppliers designing and producing wireless products for HARMAN by reviewing technical reports and verifying/qualifying samples in each sample phase. - Support the Quality team in solving failures found in manufacturing plants or in the field. Qualifications Required: - More than 8 years of experience in HW development with wireless applications like Cellular, BT/WIFI/GNSS, including all steps such as pre-studies, development, and certification. - Bachelors degree with E&E or RF major. - Experience in automotive development processes and qualification standards. - Familiarity with wireless product certification processes for the global market. - Experience in multiple antenna integration.
