Prepress Impositor

Key Responsibilities
A. Imposition & Layout Creation

• Create accurate imposition layouts (2-up, 4-up, 8-up, 16-up, 32-up depending on press size and job type).
• Develop imposition for:
• Books (section-wise, nested imposition)
• Catalogues & brochures
• Mono cartons & packaging
• Master cartons
• Stationery items (pads, letterheads, envelopes)
• Coffee table books (mixed page sizes)
• Calculate creep, gutter, spine width, folding allowances, and trimming margins.

B. File & Artwork Preflight Checking

• Check incoming artwork for:
• Bleed
• Fonts embedded
• Colour mode (CMYK/Spot)
• Panel alignment
• Barcode resolution
• Die-line accuracy for cartons
• Fix minor artwork issues if required.

C. Plate Planning & Press Optimization

• Plan plate sets as per:
• Press size (Komori, Heidelberg etc.)
• Colour sequence
• Paper size & grain direction
• Plate reuse opportunities
• Reduce wastage by optimizing sheet layout.

D. Coordination

• Work with the PPC (Planning) team to schedule job sequence.
• Communicate with designers for corrections.
• Provide final print-ready PDFs to the CTP operator.
• Ensure correct plate naming and version control.

E. Quality Control

• Ensure no errors in:
• Pagination
• Colour marks
• Registration marks
• Die-cut alignment
• Folding positions
• Approve digital proofs before plate making.

F. Technical Knowledge

• Understanding of:
• Offset printing process
• Paper types, GSM, grain directions
• Colour management basics
• Packaging keylines (RSC, lock bottom, reverse tuck-in, crash lock, window patching)
• Software skills:
• Adobe Acrobat Pro (preflight)
• Adobe InDesign
• Adobe Illustrator

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
