Employment Type: Full-time Department: Data & Analytics ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Role Overview: We are seeking a Microsoft BI Technical Lead with deep technical expertise in Azure BI ecosystem to lead design, development, and support of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across Azure Analysis Services (AAS), Azure Data Factory (ADF), Microsoft Fabric, SQL Managed Instance (SQL MI), and Azure SQL Database, with a strong foundation in data modelling, architecture design, and performance tuning. A background in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) domain is essential, ideally covering sales, finance, and inventory reporting use cases. This role combines technical leadership, delivery ownership, and team mentorship responsibilities. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Key Responsibilities: 1. Solution Design & Development - Design and implement scalable BI and analytics solutions using AAS, ADF, Fabric, and Azure SQL services. - Lead end-to-end architecture design, including data modelling, ETL orchestration, semantic layer setup, and dashboard integration (Power BI). - Perform performance optimization, data validation, and quality assurance across all BI layers. - Translate complex business requirements into technical solutions that are efficient, maintainable, and secure. 2. Platform Ownership & Governance - Oversee the BI infrastructure within Azure – ensuring data pipelines, models, and services are efficient and reliable. - Manage platform capacity, performance tuning, and version upgrades as needed. - Maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for BI and data architecture across the enterprise. 3. FMCG Reporting Expertise - Develop and enhance reporting solutions for sales performance, financial management, and inventory visibility. - Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure analytics solutions align with business KPIs and decision-making needs. 4. BAU & Operations Support - Oversee BAU support and helpdesk processes, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and change requests. - Implement robust incident, problem, and change management practices to maintain high availability and service quality. 5. Leadership, Mentoring & Team Development - Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of BI developers and data engineers. - Participate in code reviews, solution reviews, and mentoring sessions to uplift team capability. - Drive continuous improvement by introducing modern tools, frameworks, and best practices. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Required Skills & Experience: - 10+ years of experience in BI solution design and development, with 3+ years in a lead or senior technical role. - Proven experience with Azure BI stack: AAS, ADF, Fabric, SQL MI, Azure SQL Database, Power BI. - Hands-on expertise in data modelling, DAX/MDX, T-SQL, and ETL workflows. - Solid understanding of data architecture principles and Azure data ecosystem. - Strong domain knowledge in FMCG, particularly in sales, finance, and inventory analytics. - Practical experience in incident management, change control, and ongoing BAU support. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Experience mentoring and developing junior BI staff. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Preferred Qualifications: - Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Power BI Data Analyst Associate. - Experience integrating Microsoft Fabric with enterprise-grade BI systems. - Exposure to DevOps/CI-CD practices for BI environments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Why Join Us: - Opportunity to lead transformative BI initiatives in a high-impact FMCG environment. - Hands-on technical leadership role with both architectural influence and delivery ownership. - Collaborative and data-driven culture with continuous learning and growth opportunities.
