Position: Senior Welding Manager Experience: 10–15 Years Industry: Heavy Fabrication / Engineering / Manufacturing Location : Oragadam, Kanchipuram Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Welding Manager to lead and manage welding operations for heavy fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring quality, productivity, safety, and compliance with international welding standards. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all welding activities in heavy fabrication projects (pressure vessels, structural fabrication, heavy equipment, etc.). Develop, review, and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), PQR, and WPQR . Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, EN, etc.). Coordinate with QA/QC, production, and engineering teams to meet project schedules and quality requirements. Supervise welding engineers, supervisors, inspectors, and shop-floor welding teams. Manage welder qualification, performance evaluation, and skill development. Oversee welding consumables selection, control, and inventory. Ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices in welding operations. Troubleshoot welding-related issues and implement corrective actions. Support audits, client inspections, and third-party inspections. Drive continuous improvement in welding processes, productivity, and cost optimization. Required Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s Degree / Master's of Welding, or Metallurgical Engineering. Minimum 10–15 years of experience in welding management within heavy fabrication industry . Strong knowledge of welding processes: SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW, FCAW. Experience with carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and special materials. Certification such as CSWIP / AWS / IWE will be an added advantage. Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.
