Job Description

Key Responsibilities Design and execute a migration strategy for MySQL, Oracle or any other database to PostgreSQL. Refactor PL/SQL code into PL/pgSQL while ensuring application compatibility. Analyse existing schemas, queries, and stored procedures to ensure compatibility. Optimize PostgreSQL performance, indexing, and query execution plans. Implement data validation and integrity checks before and after migration. Modify applications and services to work efficiently with PostgreSQL. Develop scripts using python for data migration and replication. Troubleshoot performance issues and ensure database reliability. Ensure compliance with security best practices for database management. Document migration processes and provide knowledge transfer to the team. Unique Knowledge & Skill Requirement Strong expertise in MySQL/Oracle and PostgreSQL schema design, indexing, query optimization. Hands-on experience in database migration projects (MySQL/Oracle to PostgreSQL preferred). Proficiency in SQL scripting, stored procedures, and triggers. Knowledge of ETL processes and data transformation techniques. Experience with database replication, partitioning, and performance tuning. Familiarity with database monitoring tools and query performance analysis. Scripting experience in Python or SQL-based automation tools. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
