About the Role DashamLabs is seeking a proactive, hands-on Instrumentation & Automation Engineer to support the setup, operation and improvement of instrumentation and control systems for our aerogel manufacturing plant in Bawal. This role offers strong exposure across: Instrumentation installation, calibration and maintenance PLC/SCADA/VFD/HMI systems Commissioning and testing of new equipment Troubleshooting and problem-solving on the plant floor The ideal candidate enjoys being close to machines and process equipment, learning by doing, and working in a fast-evolving plant environment. This role provides early ownership and an accelerated path toward Senior Automation Engineer and beyond. Key Responsibilities Instrumentation Maintenance Install, calibrate, test and maintain field instruments including: o Pressure / temperature / flow / level transmitters o Sensors, switches, gauges o Control and on/off valves Perform loop checks, signal verification and field troubleshooting. Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections, and flag emerging issues. Support corrective maintenance on automated lines or machines. Maintain documentation, calibration records and equipment history. Monitor system performance and report deviations. Support upgrades, retrofitting and new installations. Automation & Controls Assist in PLC and HMI activities including: o I/O checks o Basic ladder logic troubleshooting o Coordination with system integrators for programming Support SCADA/HMI configuration and monitoring. Participate in development of new control logic for processes and equipment. Assist in panel testing, commissioning and system upgrades. Learn PLC programming concepts over time. Commissioning & Modifications Participate in installation and commissioning of instruments, panels and control systems. Execute testing, loop checks, and FAT/SAT with vendors. Support development of new automation schemes and control systems. Provide automation and controls support to technology/R&D teams for new equipment and SPMs. Coordination & Reporting Work closely with mechanical, electrical, process and R&D teams. Coordinate with automation vendors, integrators and contractors. Maintain reports, I/O lists, configurations, SOPs, breakdown logs. Ensure adequate spare inventory for instrumentation and automation systems. What You Bring B.Tech in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related discipline. 1–3 years of hands-on experience with industrial instrumentation. Working knowledge of: o Calibration tools and procedures o 4–20 mA signals, transmitters, sensors o Control valves and actuators Exposure to PLC/SCADA/DCS/VFD/HMI/panel wiring. Ability to read P&IDs, loop drawings and wiring diagrams. A natural ability to grasp new technologies and apply them practically. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Good communication and coordination skills to work with internal teams and vendors. Ability to support operations with minimum disruption and adherence to safety and SOPs. Preferred / Desired Exposure to: o Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Schneider PLC systems o HMI/SCADA monitoring o Industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP) Experience in chemical, pharma, food or other process plants. Understanding of safety systems, interlocks, lock-out/tag-out. Basic programming aptitude. Familiarity with CAD/CAM. Prior work or training in oil & gas, distilleries or similar complex process environments. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing or six-sigma. Technical Skills Calibration and maintenance of field instruments. Fault finding in panels, wiring and I/O systems. Working understanding of PLC/HMI systems. Use of multimeter, calibrator, pressure pump and industrial tools. Ability to maintain clear records, reports and SOPs. Why DashamLabs We are building something meaningful — from the ground up.
