Database Administrator (DBA) India We're looking for a Senior Database Administrator with deep expertise in scaling, migrating, and maintaining large-scale databases . Our application stack is MEAN (MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node.js) running on AWS , and our current environment involves MongoDB Atlas with very large indexes (clusters scaling up to M80) , a multi-tenant cluster structure where all client data sits under one production cluster, and DynamoDB for deduplication . Here is what we do at Pingtree on a daily basis: Create Amazing Ads: We build production quality videos and compelling image-based ads with ad copy you just can't help yourself but to click on. Design and Develop Online Brands: We build websites and manage them from brand to monetization strategy Sell Traffic: We generate it for buyers to buy the best traffic to their brand, service or product all while focusing on optimization of acquisition cost, lift time value and many other KPI's. Monetize Everything: Not all traffic works, we find solutions and we give our users what they need to recoup ad spend quickly! Key Responsibilities Database Architecture & Scaling Manage and optimize large-scale MongoDB Atlas clusters (currently in M80 tier). Implement strategies to reduce costs and optimize performance (indexing, sharding, partitioning). Evaluate and implement multi-cluster or hybrid strategies to separate clients/orgs efficiently. Tune queries, indexes, and schema design for high-performance reads/writes Migrations & Data Strategy Design and execute migration strategies (e.g., MongoDB ? SQL/Postgres, or hybrid setups). Maintain data integrity, availability, and security during migrations. Provide architectural recommendations for multi-tenant vs. isolated client data models. Operations & Maintenance Own backups, disaster recovery, and high availability planning. Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability for database health/performance. Automate database operations wherever possible (scripts, jobs, pipelines). Cross-System Expertise Manage DynamoDB used for deduplication logic. Advise on integration with AWS services (S3, EC2, Lambda, Fargate, etc.). Collaborate with engineering to ensure smooth DB integration with MEAN applications Data Manipulation & Analysis Handle large-scale datasets across multiple organizations and collections. Write advanced queries for reporting, debugging, and analytics. Support dev teams in data-heavy workflows (campaign distribution logs, joins, etc.). Future-Proofing Evaluate and introduce best practices for multi-tenant SaaS data architecture. Guide the organization toward the right database technology choices (SQL, NoSQL, or polyglot persistence). Stay ahead on modern DB technologies and migrations. Requirements 7+ years of DBA experience with large-scale production systems. Expertise in MongoDB Atlas (performance tuning, sharding, scaling, index optimization). Strong experience with AWS database services (DynamoDB, RDS, backups, monitoring). Proven track record of data migrations (Mongo ? SQL, SQL ? NoSQL, or hybrid). Experience handling multi-tenant SaaS databases with millions of records and heavy indexing. Proficiency with query tuning, schema design, and index optimization. Knowledge of disaster recovery, replication, and security best practices. Strong analytical skills for data manipulation and debugging. Nice to Have Exposure to PostgreSQL or other SQL systems (especially in migrations). Familiarity with data warehousing or ETL pipelines. Experience with high-throughput systems (millions of events/logs per day).
