You’ll maintain and enhance our existing VB.NET applications, build new features, fix bugs, and ensure high performance and reliability. Your work will integrate with SQL Server databases, Windows services, and modern front-ends. Key Responsibilities Maintain & Enhance : Support and evolve existing VB.NET WinForms/WebForms applications New Development : Design and implement new modules using VB.NET and related frameworks Database Integration : Write and optimize T-SQL stored procedures, views, and functions against SQL Server API & Services : Build/consume RESTful APIs or WCF services to integrate with other systems Bug Fixing & Support : Diagnose issues, write unit tests, and deliver timely bug fixes Code Quality : Follow best practices—code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines Documentation : Produce clear technical specs, user guides, and inline code comments Collaboration : Pair with product owners, QA, and UX/UI designers in Agile/Scrum ceremonies Required Skills & Experience VB.NET: 4+ years of hands-on development in VB.NET (WinForms, WebForms, or ASP.NET) .NET Framework: Strong familiarity with .NET Framework 4.x Databases: Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server—writing and tuning complex stored procedures Web Technologies: Understanding of HTML/CSS/JavaScript for WebForms scenarios API Integration: Experience with REST/WCF services Version Control: Comfortable using Git (or TFS) workflows Testing: Unit testing frameworks (e.g. MSTest, NUnit) and debugging tools Agile: Experience working in a Scrum or Kanban environment Communication: Clear verbal and written English; ability to articulate technical designs Nice-to-Have Migration experience from VB.NET to C# or .NET Core Knowledge of modern UI frameworks (e.g. Angular, React) for hybrid desktop/web fronts Exposure to Azure or AWS cloud services Message-queue or event-driven architecture (e.g. RabbitMQ, MSMQ) Experience with Windows Services, background processing How to Apply Please send your resume, a brief cover note highlighting relevant VB.NET projects, and links to any GitHub repos or code samples to piecodeinfotech@gmail.com with the subject line “VB.NET Developer Application.” We look forward to building great software together!
