1. Evaluation of Existing Products Conduct periodic technical reviews of all current product formulations. Analyze product performance, stability data, customer feedback, and competitive benchmarks. Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or performance improvements required in existing products. Recommend reformulations or process modifications to enhance quality, cost-effectiveness, safety, or regulatory compliance. Ensure all improved formulations meet company standards, statutory regulations, and industry benchmarks. New Product Development (NPD) Understand company needs, market trends, and customer requirements to propose new product concepts. Develop new formulations from concept to sample stage, ensuring feasibility, scalability, and cost efficiency. Conduct lab trials, pilot production trials, and prepare technical documentation. Work closely with production teams to ensure seamless transition from development to commercial manufacturing. Maintain strong documentation for each product including formulation sheets, testing protocols, and technical specifications. Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate with procurement for raw material evaluation, vendor technical discussions, and cost optimization. Work with sales, marketing, and management to understand commercial goals and translate them into product specifications. Train internal teams (sales/production/QA) on new or updated products. Develop testing plans for evaluating product performance in lab and field conditions. Interpret data to validate product efficacy, shelf life, and stability. Recommend modifications based on test results and ensure final product approval. Documentation & Reporting Maintain detailed technical records of all formulation work. Prepare monthly reports on product enhancements, cost reductions, and new development progress. Present findings, proposals, and project status to management for decision-making. Required Skills & Competencies Strong technical knowledge of formulation science (chemicals, agrochemicals, FMCG, or relevant industry). Analytical and problem-solving skills for root cause analysis and product improvement. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and quality standards. Excellent documentation and project management abilities. Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
