Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kalyani,WB for a Bioinformatics Analyst (Genomics). The analyst will be responsible for performing end-to-end analysis of Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), Whole Exome Sequencing (WES), and clinical genomics datasets. The responsibilities include executing standardized bioinformatics pipelines, conducting data quality assessments, performing alignment, variant calling, and annotation, and generating clear scientific or clinical reports. The role also involves maintaining reproducible workflows, collaborating with internal teams to derive meaningful genomic insights, and supporting ongoing genomics projects within the organization. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in human genomics data analysis, including WGS/WES or clinical genomics workflows Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret genomic data and extract meaningful findings Proficiency with commonly used bioinformatics tools such as FastQC, BWA, Samtools, GATK, and ANNOVAR/VEP Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and basic scripting skills in Python, R, or Bash Understanding of Next Generation Sequencing technologies, reference genomes (GRCh37/GRCh38), and standard data formats (FASTQ, BAM, VCF) Familiarity with workflow reproducibility, version control, and general bioinformatics best practices Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively within scientific and technical teams Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, or a related field is required
