Role & responsibilities Production Operations: * Supervise and control all production activities as per batch manufacturing records (BMR/BPR). * Monitor and maintain process parameters during production to ensure consistent product quality. * Plan daily production schedules based on orders and raw material availability. * Ensure timely completion of batches and achieve production targets. Quality & Compliance: * Conduct in-process checks and record observations. * Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety norms, and statutory regulations. * Coordinate with Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) departments for sampling and approvals. * Maintain production logs, batch records, and process documentation accurately. Inventory & Resource Management: * Monitor raw material and packing material consumption. * Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials. * Coordinate with the stores department for material requirements and availability. Equipment & Maintenance: * Ensure proper cleaning, maintenance, and calibration of production equipment. * Report breakdowns and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs. Safety & Environment: * Ensure all safety protocols, and housekeeping standards are maintained. * Comply with environmental and waste disposal norms. Quality inspection and testing Conduct inspections: Perform visual inspections and functional tests on both the powder coating process and the final product to ensure adherence to specifications. Test critical parameters: Measure and record key coating properties, such as film thickness (DFT), adhesion, gloss, color, and cure. Inspect materials: Check incoming raw materials like powder and pre-treatment chemicals to ensure they meet quality standards. Use measurement tools: Utilize instruments like micrometers, calipers, and thickness gauges correctly. Process monitoring and improvement Monitor the process: Oversee all aspects of the powder coating process, including surface preparation, pre-treatment, application, and curing, to ensure consistency. Calibrate equipment: Ensure that all quality control instruments are calibrated and used correctly. Drive continuous improvement: Implement and lead initiatives to reduce defects, improve productivity, and lower costs. Solve problems: Investigate coating defects (e.g., pinholes, runs, poor adhesion) and lead the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Documentation and compliance Create and maintain records: Develop and maintain quality documentation, such as inspection reports, test records, and non-conformance reports (NCRs). Ensure compliance: Guarantee compliance with relevant quality standards, such as ISO 9001 or other industry-specific standards. Support audits: Assist with internal and external audits and customer inspections. Collaboration and communication Work with teams: Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and design teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes. Provide technical support: Offer technical support to relevant personnel and provide training as needed. Communicate issues: Clearly communicate quality issues and findings to management and stakeholders.
