OT Security Intern – ICS Security & Threat Detection

HAXCAMP is looking for passionate Cybersecurity Interns interested in Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), and industrial cybersecurity. This internship offers hands-on experience with OT/ICS lab environments, attack simulation, security monitoring, log analysis, and incident investigation using tools such as FUXA, OpenPLC, and Splunk.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain OT/ICS lab environments using FUXA, OpenPLC, and related technologies.
• Simulate and analyze security events in controlled industrial environments.
• Generate, collect, and analyze OT/ICS logs for threat detection and investigation.
• Integrate real-time security logs with SIEM platforms such as Splunk.
• Investigate alerts, classify true positives and false positives, and document findings.
• Develop incident response scenarios covering containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Contribute to OT security labs, detection rules, automation, and other cybersecurity projects.

Requirements

• Strong interest in OT/ICS security and industrial cybersecurity.
• Basic understanding of networking and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Willingness to learn industrial protocols, PLCs, SCADA, and OT architectures.
• Analytical thinking, troubleshooting skills, and adaptability.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with FUXA, OpenPLC, PLCs, or SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus TCP.
• Experience with Splunk or other SIEM platforms.
• Understanding of incident response and threat detection.
• Experience with Linux, Docker, Python, or networking labs.
• Home labs, CTFs, or personal cybersecurity projects.
