Key duties include patient registration, medical coding (ICD-10/CPT), submitting insurance claims, resolving payment discrepancies, and maintaining patient billing records. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with medical billing software, knowledge of healthcare regulations, and excellent communication skills to work with patients, insurance providers, and hospital staff. Role & responsibilities PMC Card preparation &visit to PMC weekly for fund allocation & documentation. CM Fund document processing, patient coordination, verification process & final documentation & bill settlement. Patient Registration & Data Collection: Collecting accurate personal, medical, and insurance details from patients during admission. Medical Coding: Converting medical procedures and diagnoses into standardized codes (like CPT and ICD-10) for billing purposes. Insurance Claim Submission: Preparing and submitting claims to insurance companies for services provided. Invoicing & Payment Processing: Preparing and sending accurate invoices to patients and processing incoming payments. Follow-Up & Dispute Resolution: Following up on unpaid claims, resolving billing inquiries, and addressing discrepancies with patients and insurers. Record Maintenance: Maintaining up-to-date billing records and managing patient billing databases. Compliance: Ensuring all billing processes comply with hospital policies and relevant healthcare regulations. Reporting: Assisting with financial reporting and analysis related to billing and revenue optimization. Collaboration: Working with insurance companies, patients, and various hospital departments to streamline billing processes and ensure accurate reimbursement. Preferred candidate profile Education: Often requires a bachelor's degree in a related field like Healthcare Administration. Technical Skills: Proficiency with medical billing software and knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with insurance billing practices, regulations, and policies. Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication. Experience: Experience in medical billing and coding is often a prerequisite for the role.
