Job Summary : The Assistant Manager – Purchase is responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of medical and non-medical items, consumables, equipment, and services in accordance with hospital policies. Key Responsibilities : Procurement Operations : Process purchase requisitions from various departments. Evaluate quotations, negotiate with vendors, and finalize purchase orders. Ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Vendor Management : Identify and develop reliable vendor sources. Maintain vendor database and evaluate supplier performance regularly. Handle vendor queries, pricing disputes, and payment coordination. Inventory & Material Planning : Coordinate with the stores and pharmacy for inventory levels and stock replenishment. Prevent overstocking or stockouts through demand forecasting and consumption analysis. Documentation & Compliance : Maintain accurate procurement records including POs, quotations, contracts, and invoices. Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs, audit requirements, and quality standards. Ensure adherence to NABH, ISO, or other regulatory guidelines related to procurement. Cost & Budget Control : Work with the finance team to ensure purchase within budget. Help in achieving cost savings through vendor negotiations and alternate sourcing. Coordination & Reporting : Coordinate with internal departments like pharmacy, biomedical, accounts, and stores. Prepare and submit purchase reports, savings reports, and vendor performance MIS to management.
