Role Description: Develop designs, sketches, and detailed drawings for all types of Structural General Arrangements (GA) and detailed drawings including 3D models. Prepare / review/ approve bills of quantities (BOQ) and material take-off (MTO) lists prior to submission to clients. Review and approve drawings before submission for client review making sure the drawings meet the quality internal and client requirements. Supervise and coordinate all civil and structural design and drafting activities within assigned projects. Delegate design and drafting tasks to designers and draftsmen within the discipline. Coordinate with Senior and Lead Discipline Engineers to provide design and drafting support for assigned projects. Conduct site visits, inspections, data collection, and technical evaluations relevant to assigned tasks and projects. Review 3D models to ensure accuracy, clash detection, and resolution, maintaining clash-free models throughout the project. Ensure completion of tasks and deliverables within budget and schedule constraints. Demonstrate supervisory skills to manage all design and drafting activities within the discipline for assigned projects. Assist in the preparation of technical details for quotations, contract documentation, and technical specifications. Liaise with clients, consultants, and engineers regarding design and assigned work. Participate in project planning as required. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with Internal Quality Assurance system and Client provisions and guidelines. Safety: Adhere to personal safety and safe working practices within OEDEC and client workplaces. Understand and follow basic OH&S procedures. Qualification : Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Drafting Technology or equivalent. Specialization- Offshore Structures Preferred Experiences: Minimum of 12 years of total work experience. At least 10 years of experience in design and drafting, preferably in hydrocarbon facilities. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior/Lead Designer and Checker. At least 5 years of experience in design and drafting for infrastructure projects (preferred). Familiarity with international codes and standards such as ACI, AISC, BS, UBC/IBC, API, EURO, relevant to design and drafting. Knowledge of basic international design and drafting standards. Proficient in AutoCAD, E3D, and Tekla software; experience with S3D/PDS is an added advantage. Experience reviewing 3D models for clashes and ensuring clash-free designs. Experience of handling projects for clients from middle east and India will be an added advantage. Skill Set: Ability to work within and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, including process, mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and piping disciplines. Proven ability to collaborate with project management, project controls, and procurement teams. Strong organizational skills, technical competence, and attention to detail. Added Advantage: Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle small design jobs, including analysis in STAAD, SACS, or similar software. 3D Model Administration Knowledge: Familiarity with 3D model administration for software such as E3D, S3D/PDS, TEKLA, etc., is a plus.
