IT Solution Architect Position Overview TEGNA is seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking IT Solution Architect to design and drive innovative technology solutions that enable business transformation and scalability. As a key member of the technology leadership team, the Solution Architect will play a central role in dening the enterprise architecture vision, designing robust and secure systems, and guiding cross- functional teams through successful solution delivery. What Youll Do Lead the end-to-end solution design process, ensuring alignment with business goals, technology strategy, and enterprise architecture standards. Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, developers, and project managers to dene solution requirements and translate them into robust technical designs. Create architectural blueprints, high-level design documents, and integration patterns across systems and platforms. Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and tools that enhance scalability, performance, and security. Ensure architecture governance through design reviews, best practice enforcement, and compliance with enterprise standards. Guide and mentor development teams on architectural best practices and technical implementation. Drive proof-of-concepts (POCs) and technology evaluations to assess tment and feasibility. Identify and mitigate architectural risks, ensuring technical debt is managed eectively. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance the solution landscape. What You Bring 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, system design, or software development across complex enterprise environments. Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (certications preferred). Expertise in microservices architecture, API design, integration frameworks, and event-driven systems. Deep understanding of enterprise application architecture, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines. Proven experience in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and high-availability systems. Prociency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, Node.js). Solid knowledge of databases (SQL & NoSQL), networking fundamentals, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar (certication is a plus). Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualications Cloud certications (e.g., AWS Certied Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert). Experience in designing enterprise solutions for multi-cloud or hybrid environments. Familiarity with data architecture, AI/ML integration, or enterprise security architecture.
