JOB DESCRIPTION – NODE.JS DEVELOPER (MONGODB & EXPRESS.JS)

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a skilled Node.js Developer with strong hands-on experience in Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, and related backend technologies to join our development team.

The ideal candidate should have experience building scalable backend applications, developing RESTful APIs, integrating third-party services, and working with NoSQL databases.

The candidate should have a good understanding of backend architecture, asynchronous programming, database optimization, API security, and performance tuning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop, maintain, and optimize backend applications using Node.js and Express.js.

2. Design, develop, and manage RESTful APIs for web applications and services.

3. Work extensively with MongoDB, including schema design, CRUD operations, aggregation pipelines, indexing, and query optimization.

4. Design and implement efficient database models using Mongoose ODM.

5. Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external services.

6. Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using JWT and other security practices.

7. Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-structured code.

8. Implement proper error handling, input validation, logging, and exception management.

9. Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.

10. Optimize API response times and database query performance.

11. Follow secure coding practices to protect APIs and sensitive data.

12. Work with Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.

13. Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and other team members.

14. Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployment activities.

15. Monitor application performance and troubleshoot backend issues in production environments.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

1. Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and JavaScript (ES6+).

2. Good working experience with Express.js for backend application development.

3. Strong experience with MongoDB and database operations.

4. Practical experience with Mongoose ODM, including schema design, validation, and relationships between collections.

5. Good understanding of RESTful API development and third-party API integration.

6. Knowledge of asynchronous programming, Promises, async/await, and event-driven architecture.

7. Experience with MongoDB aggregation pipelines, indexing, and query optimization.

8. Understanding of authentication and authorization using JWT, access control, and secure API development.

9. Experience implementing request validation, centralized error handling, and API logging.

10. Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and version control workflows.

11. Understanding of environment variables, configuration management, and application deployment.

12. Ability to debug issues, analyze logs, and troubleshoot production problems.

13. Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

GOOD TO HAVE

1. Experience working with enterprise grade applications.

2. Knowledge of Redis for caching, rate limiting, or session management.

3. Experience with PM2 for Node.js application management.

4. Familiarity with Docker and AWS services such as EC2.

5. Understanding of application security, API rate limiting, and common web vulnerabilities.

6. Experience with Winston or other logging libraries.

7. Familiarity with unit testing and API testing tools such as Jest, Mocha, Postman, or Supertest.

8. Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and production deployment practices.

9. Understanding of scalable backend architecture and performance optimization.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Candidates with relevant hands-on development experience will also be considered.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

We are looking for a developer who has strong practical experience in Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, and Mongoose, rather than someone with only theoretical knowledge.

The candidate should be comfortable developing backend modules independently, designing efficient database queries, integrating external APIs, debugging complex issues, and maintaining production-ready applications.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
