The Sr. Accountant I is responsible for analyzing financial information and preparation of financial reports with a focus on General /Corporate Accounting. Analyzes and records accounting transactions of Payroll, Benefits, Royalties, and Cost of Sales or other financial activities within an organization. Job Description Analyzes financial information; prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position. Review and analyze financial statements and ensure they are properly stated in accordance with GAAP. Performs financial month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations, preparation of journal entries, and month-end accruals. Ensures the accuracy of the accounting systems and processes related to generating and analyzing a variety of required reports; recommend implementing updates/changes to processes or systems to increase efficiencies and accounting controls. Audits assigned accounts and prepares required reports to reflect accounting transaction details. Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions before settlement. Participates in internal and external audits; provides supporting documentation as requested. Advises appropriate leadership and operating officials on accounting matters. Education Required: A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related major, or any combination of education and experience that would provide the required qualifications for the position. Experience Required: • 5+ years of accounting experience. • Experience in an ERP system. Reporting directly to the VP of Enterprise Architecture and Technology Strategy, this is a highly visible role providing the right candidate a chance to build the shared services platform that will power NextGen for years to come. This role will be responsible for the management of the full software development lifecycle for a large API solution and four stand-alone products in the healthcare interoperability space.
