Position : Network Operations Manager Location : Solan, Himachal Pradesh Salary : 65K to 75K Per Month Experience : 5+ years of experience in NOC management or network engineering. Qualification : Diploma / Bachelor's (IT/Computer Science) Job Description: The Network Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Centre (NOC), ensuring the efficient monitoring, management, and maintenance of network infrastructure. This role is crucial in ensuring that network performance is optimal, issues are promptly identified and resolved, and that the team is effectively led and trained. The NOC Manager plays a strategic role in implementing processes, managing staff, and collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless network operations and minimize downtime. Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Team Leadership and Management: Lead and supervise the NOC team (L1, L2, L3 engineers), providing direction and support. Allocate tasks and resources to ensure that NOC operations run smoothly and efficiently. Monitor performance, provide feedback, and conduct regular evaluations for NOC engineers. Establish clear performance goals and KPIs for NOC team members and track their progress. Conduct training and development programs to improve team skills and knowledge. 2. Network Monitoring and Incident Management: Oversee 24/7 network monitoring to ensure the availability and performance of all critical network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, etc.). Ensure prompt response and resolution to network outages, incidents, and service disruptions, ensuring that issues are escalated to the right resources when necessary. Coordinate and manage the resolution of critical incidents, ensuring that any disruptions are handled quickly with minimal downtime. Implement network monitoring tools and ensure the team is proficient in using them (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco Prime, Nagios). 3. Network Performance and Optimization: Develop strategies and initiatives to optimize network performance, including network traffic analysis, bandwidth utilization, and latency management. Analyse and report on network performance trends, identifying and mitigating potential bottlenecks. Work with network engineers to implement improvements and optimize network uptime and efficiency. 4. Process Improvement and Documentation: Establish, review, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all NOC activities to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery. Develop and maintain documentation related to network topology, incidents, resolutions, and preventive measures. Continuously assess and refine internal processes for incident management, escalation protocols, and reporting to ensure efficiency and best practices. Develop and manage escalation paths for incidents, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions. 5. Collaboration and Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams (IT, security, development, and business units) regarding network issues, updates, and strategic initiatives. Communicate network status and issues to senior management, including regular reports on uptime, incident response, and improvements. Collaborate with other teams to ensure network security, availability, and to implement any required changes or upgrades to the network infrastructure. 6. Security Oversight: Ensure the implementation of network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access, attacks, and vulnerabilities. Work with the security team to identify, mitigate, and respond to security incidents, including DDoS attacks, breaches, or data compromises. Oversee and ensure the maintenance of secure network configurations for all devices. 7. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network infrastructure. Ensure that network systems are backed up and can be quickly restored in the event of a failure or disaster. Lead efforts to ensure high network availability and uptime through redundancy and failover strategies. 8. Vendor and Third-Party Management: Manage relationships with vendors and third-party providers for network hardware, software, and support services. Ensure timely procurement and replacement of network equipment, and manage warranties and service agreements. 9. Reporting and Analytics: Generate and present detailed reports on network performance, uptime, incidents, and resolutions to senior management. Provide actionable insights into network trends and potential areas for improvement, focusing on capacity planning and future growth.
